Familiarity preference following HI does not originate from anxiety-like behavior. Mice were subjected to 3 days of habituation prior to NOR/NOL testing. Videos of the 10-min habituation phase on the first day of habituation were analyzed. Distance traveled in male (A) and female (A') mice, percent time spent in the center of the open field for male (B) female (B'), mice and average speed for male (C) and female (C'), and freezing episodes (D and D') of the mice are shown for \(\text{ER}\alpha\)+/+sham+VC, \(\text{ER}\alpha\)+/+HI+VC, \(\text{ER}\alpha\)+/+HI+DHF, \(\text{ER}\alpha\)−/−sham+VC, \(\text{ER}\alpha\)−/− HI+ VC, and \(\text{ER}\alpha\)−/−HI+DHF groups.
