CFP Mechanisms Responsible for Sex Differences in Stroke

Men are at greater risk of mortality from stroke. Although, the presence of hypertension, obesity and metabolic syndrome, and diabetes are some of the risk factors for stroke, why women should be protected is not clear.  The roles of estrogens in women and androgens in men as potentially contributing to stroke prevalence and mortality have not been well studied.

The Editor and Associate Editors welcome all submissions, original articles or reviews, in animal models or humans in which potential mechanisms are studied.  All manuscripts will undergo normal peer review and will be available online on the journal's website.

Manuscripts can be submitted at any time, but to be considered for inclusion in this special collection they must be submitted by December 31, 2020
